The Work and Equalities Institute

The Work and Equalities Institute pursues research and engagement on all aspects of work and employment and seeks to identify and promote the  conditions for more inclusive and fair  work and employment arrangements. It  is engaged in several projects and engagement activities linked to digitalisation, including platform work, regulation of the gig economy, automation and the future of work debate, the rise of precarious work and the impact of outsourcing.

It is concerned with the equality impacts of these developments and with measures, such as reforms to employment rights, work patterns and the life course, social protection systems, new areas  for employee voice and trade union organising and the role of social value criteria in outsourcing to mitigate the equality impacts.
