CityMoves is an eight week challenge that is open to anyone living in the North of England. Delivered as a partnership between Connected Health Cities and Nokia, the project aims to increase activity levels and adopt healthier habits. The free Nokia Health Mate app will track user’s steps and allow participants to measure their heart rate. Participants will be prompted to measure their heart rate and key times and will receive weekly emails detailing their progress and that of their region. There are 20 Nokia Steel watches to be won each week!
Data generated by CityMoves will be anonymously analysed by researchers to understand more about the impact of lifestyle changes on heart health. The project itself will also be used to raise awareness of Connected Health Cities and the work the programme delivers.
CityMoves launches at Manchester Science Festival, Media City on 21st & 22nd October with steps being counted from 23rd October – 21st December.
