DAFNI Conference 2019

DAFNI is the Data & Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure. It represents an £8 million investment from the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) to provide world leading infrastructure systems research capabilities and enhance the quality of outputs. Following 2 years of intense development effort, DAFNI is delighted to unveil to the wider community the exciting advancements within their facility and how it will relate to and revolutionise infrastructure business and research nationwide.

Day One: Showcase
- DAFNI: The next generation platform for infrastructure planning and research - why it is needed and what it will deliver (Professor Jim Hall, Oxford University)
National Infrastructure Strategy and the National Infrastructure Resilience Study (Sir John Armitt CBE)
- Unveiling of DAFNI 1.0 (Samuel Chorlton, Project Lead)
- Pilot project workshops - hear from the lead researchers (Dr Edward Oughton, Oxford University; Dr Adrián Carro, Oxford University; Dr Simon Blainey, Southampton University & Professor Stuart Barr, Newcastle University)
Day Two: Hackathon
Delve into the inner workings of DAFNI in this 1 day hackathon. This is your opportunity to contribute to the next stage of the facility with a group of your peers from academic institutions from around the UK, exploring visualisation methods to enhance communication of national infrastructure models, research and data. This is a hands-on workshop to truly get involved with DAFNI's further development.
